Legacy… How One Lives

Psalms 49:12-17, 78:4, Proverbs 13:22, Joshua 4:21-22, Deuteronomy 6:5-7

It is vitally important that the believer is focused on leaving a godly legacy. A legacy is what one leaves in others and an inheritance is something one leaves for others. Of course, we should help our children and grandchildren and the generations that follow if we can do so. However, it is vitally important that we obey and follow the Lord so they have truths in their heart, mind, and lives that really make a difference. Correct, they may not be able to spend or sell it on the market, but obedience to God and His word will be of great value to them in living. Yes, we are all sinners and it is only by God’s grace that we are who we are today. However, it is how, when, and as we obey God and follow His word that hearts and lives are penetrated. Words, responses, actions, and behavior in general make a great impact on the generations who follow and especially the younger generation. It is critical that we live and conduct ourselves by God’s grace, word, and power to leave a godly legacy for those who follow. So, what will they say about us?

Prayer: Lord, show and remind me to honor You and Your Word in all my encounters.

Project: Make a list of all the godly areas where you could and should be leaving a godly trail to follow.
