Looking for Joy
Nehemiah 8:8-10, James 1:2-3, Proverbs 10:28, I Peter 1:8-9, Psalms 55:22
The world suggests a great variety of ways that one can find joy from eating certain foods to driving a certain car. All of these various ways are tried by many but the joy they bring only lasts for a short time. However, in Nehemiah chapter eight we are given the plan for real joy:
Come to God
Anchor one’s life in His Word
Meditate in and on the Word
Obey the Bible and apply it to life
As one sets their focus, heart, and life on God He refreshes and blesses as only He can do. It’s not that all problems fade away but God gives grace, strength, and courage to withstand the challenges of life. One must be careful not to give in to worldly plans for joy but trust and obey the Lord.
Prayer: I praise You Lord for the joy You are in my heart.
