Mysterious Ways
Proverbs 25:27, 29:23, Daniel 4:33-34, James 4:6-10, Jeremiah 9:23, Philippians 2:3
Our almighty God does what He knows is best for mankind. Pride and a proud spirit (attitude) is a sin that brings problems and disaster. Just as King Nebuchadnezzar ended up acting like an animal due to his pride, so does mankind today have many troubles due to pride. As Ray Pritchard has written in his book the ABCs of Wisdom, “the starting transformation took place because he (Nebuchadnezzar) was proud and took credit for his own accomplishments refusing to give God the glory. God brought him down in the most humiliating way possible.” (Take time now to read this account in Daniel 4). God can and does bring down proud people but He also brings honor to the humble. The God of heaven and earth is watching and taking account of all everyone does and judges the proud spirit. He will do as He knows is best in the time of His choosing.
Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the thoughts of pride and deliver me from a proud attitude and may I be Your humble servant this day to do Your will in all things.
