Too Heavy
Psalm 55:22, I Peter 5:7, Matthew 11:28-30, Luke 12:25, Romans 8:31, II Corinthians 1:3-4
Sometimes the cares of life become more than a person can carry and the load becomes so great one collapses under the burdens. We are reminded many times in the scriptures to bring our burdens, troubles, problem, challenges, difficulties, and all to the Lord. Not only are we to bring them to Him, but leave them with Him to work out the details and sustain us in the hours of struggle. Take time now to list all the burdens you are trying to carry and talk to the Lord about each one as you seek His wisdom and then leave them with Him. As Joseph Scriven penned many years ago, “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry, everything to Him in prayer.” In fact, it might be well if you would stop now, look up the hymn What a Friend, and be reminded that our Lord desires to sustain, guide, lead and work in, on and through His own as they journey their life trail.
Prayer: Lord, I give you again these burdens and ask that You sustain, guide and work in, on and through my life today.
Project: list the burdens you are trying to carry now and talk to God about each of them.
