Hope in the Lord Today

Psalms 435, 35:9, 37:39-40, Jeremiah 29:11, II Corinthians 4:18, Romans 12:12, Psalms 147:11, II Corinthians 12:8-10

Many today are encouraged to place their hope in money, possessions, people, reputation, and more only to discover that these do not give “hope” that is a joy to the soul and brings peace in the time of trouble and sorrow. It is only “hope in the Lord” that produces what the Apostle Paul calls “peace” in Philippians 4:7. The Lord is the only One who sees and knows the beginning to the end and makes all things for our good and His glory (Romans 8:28). So, for lasting hope and peace of heart, mind, and life one must be anchored in the Bible (Psalm 1:1-3) and believe God to meet all their needs (Psalm 55:22). We are reminded often in the Word (Matthew 6:33) to seek the Lord first and rest in Him as we trust Him to work in all the details of life, then He will “bring it to pass”. Yes, there is hope at the end of the rope as one trusts in God and obeys the Bible.

Prayer: Lord, do what only You can do as I trust and hope in You today.

Project: List the areas that you must believe and hope in God as you turn them over to Him.
