Promises Of God

Proverbs 4:8, Psalms 23:4, 37:1-9, 46:10, 63:1, Deuteronomy 31:9, Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 43:2

Many times we are promised something but the promises are only kept by a few.  However, we can always count on our Lord to keep His promises.  In fact, it is helpful and encouraging to remind oneself often by reading the Bible that our God has promised many things to His own such as:

  • New life in Christ - II Corinthians 5:17

  • Filling of the Holy Spirit - John 14:26

  • Guidance - Psalms 37:7

  • His presence - Psalms 23:1-6

  • Wisdom - Proverbs 4:8, James 1:5

  • Answers to prayer - Psalms 37:5

And these are only a few of His promises.  The promises of God bring rest, strength, courage, and endurance to the believers.  Yes, Joseph Scriven, was correct when he penned, “What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear, what a privilege to carry, everything to Him in prayer.”

Prayer: Lord, I trust in You and Your ways as You guide me today.
