Check It Often

Mark 4:24, Psalms 1:1-3, Proverbs 4:23, 23:7, Joshua 1:8, Ephesians 2:13, Romans 12:2, Philippians 4:8

All day one is busy checking gauges, dials, and screens to see if everything is working properly.  Yet we often let thoughts run freely into the mind and life.  Thoughts are not checked and changed so the person becomes ineffective and depressed as they rely on the mind's thoughts.  Jesus reminded the Pharisees in Matthew 12:34 that the thought that one centers on, enters the heart, and is spoken out in words and actions are often anti-God thoughts and actions.  Stop and think for a moment about what you have been thinking about.  When a person changes their thoughts they can change their world.  Surely, one does not have salvation by thinking but the believer has victory when their thoughts are based on God and His Word.

Prayer: God, show me areas I have been thinking about that lead to worry and depression.  Give me strength and courage to deal with these areas and to think as You would have me think today.
