Joy

Colossians 3:17, 23, Psalms 55:27, 62:8, I Chronicles 16:10-11, Ephesians 6:7

Mankind looks and even tries almost everything this world has to offer for joy. Only to come up empty-handed and without the joy they were searching to find. Even believers in Christ must be careful lest they view joy in what they do or have instead of their Lord and Savior which comes as they obey the Bible. Joy in the Lord and his ways comes as we:

  • Read, obey, and apply the Bible to our life

  • Do right and serve the Lord

  • Pray daily as we bring our burdens to Him and leave them there

  • Rejoice in the Lord

The Apostle Paul gave us directions for having a peaceful heart and life in Philippians 4 and it comes as we rejoice in the ways of our God. If we get our eyes on today, and our ways to serving the Lord, our priority is His. It has been said, “If you find yourself feeling discouraged or worse, it’s time to slow down and have a quiet conversation with your Creator… as He offers His peace and joy.”

Prayer: Lord, I have been working and running in life and do need Your peace and joy.

Project: Write down areas where you need God’s peace, comfort, and joy.
