Gifts

Psalm 68:19, 103:2, Ephesians 5:20, I Corinthians 10:31, James 1:17

Multitudes gather at this time of year to open and enjoy gifts. As the paper is torn off the carefully wrapped gift, anticipation fills one’s mind with what might be in the package.  Each corner of the room then becomes a place where the children pile up their unwrapped gifts. 

However, if we were to take an account, the pile of gifts from the Lord over the past year are much greater than the ones we receive from family and friends.  Therefore, we should take time to list the gifts God has given this past year. If we do, great refreshing and praise will be in the heart and overflow from the lips. Yes, we have gifts these days but nothing that compares to the Gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
