Setting Your Sights
Colossians 3:1, Matthew 6:33, Philippians 4:8, Hebrews 12:2, I Peter 1:3-4
In this day of change and challenge, the sights and focus of believers must be guarded. It is the desire of the enemy that followers of Christ “set their sights” on the world, think and begin to pursue the desires of this world. When this happens a person is likely to move away from spiritual things, avoid obeying the Word, and even develop an attitude very similar to those of this world. It is at this point that the follower of Christ begins to chase after this world and “backsliding” from the Word occurs.
It is essential that each day the Word of God is obeyed. A time of prayer and meditation is also essential. When the follower of Christ adjusts their mind, heart, and life each day to the Word, their life is adjusted to follow the Bible.
I declare: that each day I will read the Bible set the focus of my life on obeying God in all ways.
