God Leads
Proverbs 1:7, 3:5-6, 16:3, John 10:10, Romans 12:2, James 1:5
There are so many things that one sees on the pages of their life that they are often unsure what to do. This happens especially as we being a new year with a long list of things we did not get accomplished last year lingering in our minds. In trying to get all of these things into our life, along with whatever the new year has brought, one is easily overwhelmed. However, the believer is promised that God will lead if they follow as instructed in Proverbs 16:3. As one commits their words to the Lord, He will guide and establish their thinking. God has promised that His wisdom, strength, and courage are ours if we bring our ways to Him… the ways He desires will be established and settled on the things He wants us to do. A tool of the enemy is to keep a list of many things to do and people to see that one soon becomes overwhelmed and discouraged because they are not meeting their goals. The trip of being overwhelmed often leads to depression and frustration which affects every area of life as the believer is consumed with the never-ending list which often leads to worry and anxiety. Yes, there are many things to do, people to see, and projects that need to be done. However, we must be reminded that we have one day at a time, and being faithful to the Lord and our responsibilities are the keys to an effective and successful life. Yes, we all start out a new year with a long list of resolutions and ideas but it is essential that the believer commit all to the Lord and obey the Bible to be who and do what the Lord desires today and tomorrow. We are often reminded how short life is and it is important to focus on the right things. Therefore, we must commit our lives to the Lord and trust in His leading as we obey day by day. It is as Carolina Sandell wrote many years ago, ”day by day and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here…”. Yes, there are many things to do but God directs and leads those who trust and obey to do His will each day.
Prayer: God, thank You for knowing and leading.
Project: it is good to make an agenda of what God desires one to do this day.
