Rest In The Lord

Matthew 6:33, 11:28-30, Psalms 4:8, 55:22, Isaiah 26:3, I Peter 5:7

In a time when there is much unrest and worry it is the joy of the believer to rest in the Lord. This does not mean that there will not be any challenges or struggles as one goes through life, but the follower of Christ trusts in Him and rests in the presence and power of the Lord. Resting in the Lord is strengthened and sustained as the believer:

  • Reads and meditates on the Bible

  • Brings their requests and needs to the Lord in prayer

  • Lives and moves in obedience to the Bible

  • Serves the Lord and is faithful

As the believer lives and conducts their life in God’s ways He responds and blesses their life with rest and assurance. One of the great lights that are shown to our world is this rest and trust in the Lord. This is not to suggest that one can just sit around and wait for God to move, but they are serving the Lord and being obedient to live as the Bible instructs. This resting in the Lord brings great joy to the believer as God has promised.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for quieting my soul in this noisy world and for giving me peace and joy that only comes from You.
