Satisfied
I Timothy 6:6, Philippians 4:11-13, II Corinthians 12:9-10, Proverbs 19:23
One of the things about our culture and society is that it is challenging to be satisfied and content with what one has at their disposal. About the time one seems to be content they begin to think about some device or technological piece that will bring, what appears to be, comfort and ease to their life. It is in the desire for more things that a person easily is drawn away from the Lord and spiritual growth. One of the traps the enemy uses is this desire for things as the mind and life are consumed with thoughts about the object wanted. The believer must be careful to:
Guard the mind/heart and life (Proverbs 4:23)
Set their affections on the Lord (Colossians 3:1-2)
Keep the Bible as their rulebook and guide to life (Psalm 119:105)
Obey the leading of the Holy Spirit of God (Galatians 5:16)
The discounted or unsatisfied life is open to the traps of the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Prayer: Lord, forgive me for focusing on things of this world and not being content. Move in my heart that I would be content and satisfied today.
