When Your Life-Boat is Rocking

Philippians 4:4-9, Romans 12:12, John 16:33, I Peter 4:12, James 1:2, Romans 5:3, Exodus 14:14

The little ship had found its way out in the great ocean and was being tossed to and fro like an empty bottle.  The sick and weary captain had called for help and fortunately, a large ship was in the area and came to the rescue of the captain.  Many people are tossed to and fro on the waves of life but have not learned that they can have peace even in the great storm. This peace begins with a personal relationship with the Lord (John 3:16, Romans 6:23) and then the Apostle Paul, in Philippians 4, gives special details how one can have peace in the storms of life by:

  • Being joyful in the Lord

  • Being thankful for all the Lord has done

  • Being careful not to worry but trust the Lord

  • Being prayerful in all things

  • Being selective in what is in the mind

  • Being content in the ways of the Lord

Our life-ship is rocking in the storms of life but can be content in the Lord which is a great demonstration to those around us.
