On The Right Path

Proverbs 21:21, Psalms 25:4-5, 119:195, Romans 12:1-2, Proverbs 3:5-6

Each time one drives on the highway they are careful to be in the correct lane leading to where one is traveling. We have signs and various reminders of which way to follow. Surely one has the challenge of being in the lane that goes where one wants to go. Sometimes, one gets in the wrong lane and it is difficult to get back into the correct lane. So it is with life. Each day the wise person is careful to check that they are in the lane to “pursue righteousness” as we are reminded in Proverbs 21:21. A person can get into the wrong lane of life as the world attracts and deception takes place. It is great to know that God forgives and works in one’s life to cleanse but it would be best to stay on the path of righteousness. Just as one diligently checks the lanes of traffic as they drive, so a believer needs to check their life daily to keep on “pursuing righteousness” and obeying the Lord. If one discovers they are on the wrong path they should confess their sin(s) to God and make the needed changes to get back on the path of pursuing righteousness.

Prayer: Lord, open my spiritual eyes so see any area where I am getting off Your path.

Project: List areas of life and ways you can pursue righteousness.
