I Timothy 6:6-10, Hebrews 13:5, II Corinthians 12:9-10, Habakkuk 3:17-19

In a world where almost everything is available, people are trying desperately to find contentment and satisfaction. Even in recent years, young people want to be completely satisfied and content in their life at every moment. Yet, also as one journeys through life, one soon discovers that life is hard and mostly uphill. A trap of the enemy is to lead people to think that this life should be easy and they should have all the things they want now. However, we must remember that:

  • We live in a sinful world

  • There is no peace of heart until one knows the Lord as personal savior

  • When there is nothing but ease the person is coasting downhill

  • Christ in the believer is Him giving grace and strength to live victoriously

  • It is the joy of the believer to live so others may be drawn to life in Christ

It is in the hour or time of darkness that the believer can demonstrate to the world that Christ meets needs and supplies strength for living.

Prayer: Lord, open my spiritual eyes to see beyond the challenges of today and guide me to be a blessing to others who will find contentment in You.
