Where is Your Focus?

Proverbs 3:5-6, Romans 5:3-5, II Corinthians 4:16-18, Isaiah 26:3, Matthew 6:33, Psalms 141:8

Often one is asked, “what are you looking at?” This is also a good question for today, for that which one is focused on is what fills the mind, heart (inner person), and life. One’s focus then determines their words, actions, and behavior in general. If one is focused on their problems, challenges, and hurts it is greatly reflected in their everyday living. The believer should be focused on:

  • The promises of God

  • The Word of God…the Bible

  • The blessings of God

  • The ways of God

  • The directions of the Lord

  • Speaking words that reflect the love of God

  • Looking for opportunities to share God’s love with others

So, it is vitally important that one checks, and if necessary, corrects their focus. It is helpful to remember that there is someone who has more troubles and hurts than we do and life is very hard for them.

Prayer: Lord, guide me to see and know You are at work in and through my life and that You are the refresher of my soul.
