Courage
Proverbs 28:1, Isaiah 40:31, I Corinthians 12:9-10, II Timothy 1:7
Many “giants” face people today and drive them into fear, depression, sorrow, and regret. The giants are probably not real, like Goliath standing before David, but are “giants” of worry, fear, aging, physical challenges, or other troubles. However, we must remember that our God is more powerful than any giant and He will sustain His own. It is encouraging for His children to remember:
They are more than conquerors in Him - Romans 8:37
God gives strength and courage - II Corinthians 12:9
Victory is in the Lord and doing His will - I John 5:4
And the many more promises of the Lord
So that giant that looms before you today can be overcome as one trusts and obeys the Lord. It is as Charles Wiegel wrote many years ago in the hymn, “No one ever cared for me like Jesus… since I found in Him a friend so kind as He…”
Prayer: Thank You Lord for the courage and strength You give to overcome the “giants” of my life.
