Be Careful What You Think
Proverbs 23:7, II Corinthians 10:5, Philippians 4:8, Proverbs 3:13
Often people are not careful what they “feed” their minds and this leads to significant problems. The Bible is clear that whatever a person puts into or feeds their mind affects their actions, words, and conduct in general. It is true that no one lives a perfect and victorious life all the time but if a person feeds their mind on problems, challenges, fearful, troubling, bitter, and resentful thoughts that are negative… they will be living out these thoughts. Jesus reminds one in the Word that “out of the abundance of the heart” a person speaks and lives. However, when one “feeds” their mind on the promises of God, His Word, and reviews the blessings of God they see life from His perspective instead of from a negative life aspect. So, it is essential that one takes time each day to read the Bible, review the blessings of God in and on their life, and prays for God’s wisdom in all things. Since life is hard and often difficult, one must feed their mind on the right thoughts of God or they will be “under the circumstances.” What have you been thinking about recently? Is your life a light to direct people to our God or a “candle under the bushel” of your difficult life?
Prayer: Lord, thank You for grace and wisdom to guide my life and strength to center my mind and life on Your goodness so I can be a light in my world.
