Start the Day
Psalms 59:16-17, 118:24, 143:8, Philippians 3:13, Proverbs 16:24
Often one jumps out of bed, gets ready, and hurries off to a day filled with challenging events, people, and details of life. Better if the believer plans for time in the Bible, prayer, examination of self, and planning the day as they wait before the Lord. Also, one would do well to pray and decide who the Lord would have them encourage and invest in this day. Often the days are consumed with just running from one thing to another instead of being concerned about how God would lead and work through the details of life. Reading the Bible and knowing the mind of our Lord as one commits to obedience is a much better way to start the day. Remember, today is all one has as we are reminded in Proverbs 27:1 not to boast about what we will do later.
Prayer: Lord, guide me today and show me how I can and should be Your vessel of honor today.
