Whatever You Do
Colossians 3:12-17, I Corinthians 1:31, Matthew 22:34-37, Psalms 139:23-24
Many times a child will say such unusual things in an effort to please others and to get their attention. This can be humorous at times and also frustrating. So it is with believers and followers of Christ. They should live and talk to please the Lord. Not that one can do or say anything to gain salvation, for it is the gift of God. However, believers are to demonstrate to others that they have been changed by His power and presence in their life. Therefore, they:
Speak to please Him
Invest in others as Christ would do
Reflect the work of God in one’s life
Seek to please and honor the Lord in all things
A believer should constantly desire to please the Lord. Living to please people is a great trap that results in many problems and challenges.
Prayer: Lord, open the eyes of my soul to see areas that I am seeking to please people and not Your desires.
