Calm in the Storm

I Peter 5:7, Psalms 55:22, Philippians 4:6-7, Isaiah 26:3, 43:2, John 14:27, II Corinthians 4:7, 12:9, Proverbs 3:5-6

In a time when people are worried, frustrated, and depressed… the follower of Christ can have calm in the storm.  The storms do not go away but the believer has their focus on God and not the storm. And God has promised to give peace or inward calm in the storm.  Inner peace is what an obedient believer enjoys in the storm.  In this day of technology and fast pace, one must trust in God and rest in the truth that He knows one’s situation.  As one writer puts it, “peace is not the absence of problems but the presence of God in the midst of your problems” (Jim Merritt). Often one wants the problems removed for peace of heart and mind instead of focusing on the Lord to know His presence and calm in the storm.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for being my anchor in the storms of life and that You know about my challenges and will give me grace, strength, and wisdom as I trust and obey You.
