Winning Over Discouragement
Psalms 31:24, 77:11-13, Deuteronomy 31:8, Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 40:31, Jeremiah 29:11
As things go the way one did not anticipate, life changes and people neglect to share it. It then becomes easy to slip into discouragement. It has been said that discouragement is “the loss of confidence and enthusiasm.”
Discouragement comes often when a believer:
Feels like God is gone
Does not get the answers to prayer when and what they expected
Senses they are out of resources
Focuses on the challenges and problems of the day
In Psalm 77 we are reminded to:
Think on the greatness of God and His works
Talk to others about God’s works.
Worship the Lord
Focus on the promises of God
Discouragement often leads one to think and do things they would never do. Then now, out of frustration and challenge, they are involved in words and actions that are not pleasing to the Lord.
My declaration: I will center my mind (inner person) on God and His works in my life and allow Him to work through my life to be a blessing to others.
