Stop Moaning

Proverbs 4:23, II Corinthians 10:5, Colossians 3:2, Ephesians 5:15-16, Matthew 22:37, Psalms 139:23-24

One must be cautious as to what thoughts they allow to enter and stay in the mind as the heart (inner person) and the life are greatly affected by them.  Often one is reminded in the Scriptures to think on God, His ways, and maintain positive thoughts. When one concentrates or focuses on negative ways and thoughts they:

  • Become depressed and anxious

  • Forget all God has done

  • Ignore all that God has promised to do

  • Become irritable

  • Speak unkind and unnecessary words

  • Draw back from others and become lonely

Yes, everyone has problems and many have pain that accompanies the challenges.  However, when the focus is on these things it is easy to forget God and be negative in attitude, actions, and words.  We are reminded many times in the Scriptures to give thanks to God and others. We are also reminded to be alert to what God is teaching and respond godly so that His ways are noticed by others in our world.

Prayer: Lord, open my spiritual eyes to Your ways and guide me to think thoughts that honor You. Then, by Your grace, I will be a blessing to others in my world.
