Satisfaction
Psalms 16:11, 34:5, 8, 119:165, Isaiah 58:11, Philippians 4:11-12
There is a great quest today for people to find and have the satisfaction and joy of the soul. So, people run to and fro to find satisfaction, only to discover that worldly satisfaction is temporary. The scriptures remind us that the soul of mankind is on this constant journey to be satisfied. However, true satisfaction is only to be found in the Lord. As the Psalmist wrote in chapter nine verse thirty-five, “and my soul shall be joyful in the Lord, it shall rejoice in His salvation.” It is the mysterious and miraculous moving of our Lord that the quest of the longing soul is supplied (Pslam 23:1-6). In daily coming to the Bible to glean God’s words of encouragement, warning, and instructions the follower of Christ then, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, determines to be obedient to the Word and be satisfied. As the Psalmist also wrote, “taste and see that the Lord is good.” It is vitally important for satisfaction and contentment that one relies on, trusts, and obeys the Lord.
Prayer: Open my spiritual eyes so that I may really see where I am seeking my satisfaction.
