In The Storm

II Corinthians 4:8-18, Philippians 4:6-9, Isaiah 26:3, 43:2, Philippians 4:7

Each time one enters a structure, whether it is a building or ship, they are given a plan for getting out or off if there is a challenge or disaster. It is wise to listen and know a plan for getting into the open space and free from harm or even death. So it is with the storms of life where one often finds themselves. Just as there are plans to escape the potential danger, the scriptures are loaded with plans and things to remember and do in the time of storm such as:

  • Remember God knows the way

  • Trouble, sorrow, and challenges are a part of life

  • Circumstances are never out of God’s hand

  • There are certain lessons to learn in each storm

  • This too shall pass

  • The promises of God sustain

  • Pruning is a vital part of producing fruit

So, in the storms of life, the obedient and sensitive believer trusts God and continues on.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for peace of heart in the storms of life.

Project: List any current storms, the lessons God is bringing to your attention, and how you plan to obey.
