When violent storms occur one looks for a place to be safe while they gain strength to continue. So it is in life. When violent storms of troubles, difficulties, and problems come it is a blessing to know the believer can go to the Lord and be safe and gain strength. As the Lord told the Apostle Paul in II Corinthians 12 6-10, He would give him “grace” to continue. It seems that this grace is the power of God to live beyond oneself, or just to keep going. It is in this grace that the Apostle Paul goes on to say, “therefore, I take pleasures in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessitates, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
So, when the storms of life come the believer can be “safe in the arms of Jesus”. Just being held by the One who loves us the most gives us strength to carry on and it is in His strength, when we are weak, that He makes us strong.
