Thoughts Matter

Philippians 4:8, II Corinthians 10:5, Proverbs 23:7, Psalms 139:23-24, Matthew 7:20-23, Romans 12:2

In a few moments, the mind can begin to recall people and events.  Because of the fleshly nature, one is prone to think about the negative, destructive, and hurting things and are soon brought down instead of being built up.  The first thoughts of life each day set the atmosphere and tone of the day.  So, it is effective to disciple the mind as another day begins to think on:

  •  The promises of God

  •  The blessings of God

  •  The abilities and talents that God has given

  •  Opportunities of the day

  •  Many friends

  •  Family members

And much more.  It is true that no matter where the believer is today, and the circumstances that surround life, God is still God and He is all-powerful.  The promises of God and encouragement from His Word bring rejoicing to the mind, heart, and life and it is in this that one has thoughts that honor the Lord and bless others.

Prayer: Lord, deliver me from the fears of life as I set my mind, heart, and life on Your blessings and the joy of knowing and serving You today.
