Helping Others Now

Galatians 6:2, Hebrews 13:16, John 15:12, Proverbs 19:17, Matthew 22:32-40

One of the believer's great joys is to reach out and help others in times of their need. We are reminded in the Bible that God blesses His children so they can bless and help others when they need it. It is so easy to get smothered in one’s own needs that others are forgotten and the commitment to obey our Lord is forgotten. Surely, one must deal with their own challenges but the pressures of life can be relieved by helping others. The hand of God reaches into one’s life as His children reach out to help those in need. Take a few moments now and recall the many blessings you enjoy today such as:

• Food

• Health

• Family

• Friends

• Lodging

And then think and pray about people who do not have these blessings and ask God how you can be a part of their life now. Reaching out and helping others brings great joy to the soul and is a blessing to others.

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see people in my world that You would have me help now.
