Psalms 63:1-5, James 1:5, Matthew 6:5-15

Many times even a so-called Christian tries everything before they come to God in prayer, repentance, and dedication as they ask for direction. Therefore, they are extisting in their own power and not in the Lord. Instead of coming to the Lord first, ways and philosophies of the world often are the basis of one’s actions and responses. But the believer must remember to invest time in prayer for the events of life as they talk to the eternal God about:

  • Wisdom needed, James 1:5

  • Comfort of the heart, Psalms 23:1-6

  • Guidance in the way, Proverbs 3:5-6

  • Peace, Philippians 4:7

  • Needs, Philippians 4:9

  • Works needed in the heart, Psalms 19:14

Yes, one needs to pray in faith believing in God for His will and do the impossible. It is as the as the songwriter penned many years ago, “err you left your room this morning, did you think to pray.”

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for the times I have tried to work things out without praying for Your wisdom.

Project: List areas to pray about now and pray.
