Strength

Ephesians 3:3-21, Mark 7: 14-23, John 15:1-8, Psalms 1:1-3, I Timothy 4:8

Much time and money is devoted today to gaining physical strength and stamina. Of course, it is good to stay in good physical condition. However, it is a known fact that a great many people are overweight and not in good physical condition. Yes, one needs to be concerned about their physical condition but believers should also be very concerned about their “inner person”. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in II Corinthians 4:16-19 the physical body will deteriote but the “inward person” needs to be strengthened and built up each day; for it is the “inner strength” that sustains and gives what is needed as the physical body returns to dust. The “inner person” is shallow when a believer:

  • Neglects the daily reading of the Bible

  • Refuses to obey the Holy Spirit

  • Fills the mind and life with thoughts and ideas contrary to the Bible

  • Does not deal with sins according to the Word.

Building up the “inner person “ is to be a daily part of one’s life.

Prayer: Lord, guide me to set aside a daily time to respond in obedience to Your Word and leading.

Project: List ways one can do daily to build the “inner person” and then set a plan as to how you will incorporate these items into your life.
