Leave it to God

Proverbs 20:22, Romans 12:17-21, Luke 6:24-27, Ecclesiastes 1:3-14

Children are often disciplined for trying to get back at others as they seek to even the score.  Although the child is disciplined, their actions or words prove that the discipline is often ignored.  If one is not careful and obedient, these character traits get worse as a person grows older. Many people live in bitterness and resentment for what someone has said or done to them.  The followers of Christ must remember that the Bible instructs them to:

  • Forgive and forget

  • Do good, even to our enemies

  • Do not try to even up the score

  • Leave the record-keeping to God

It is most important how one talks and acts rather than trying to get even with what others have said or done.

Prayer: Lord, help me remember Your Word and leave it all to You.
