Dealing with Anxiety

Deuteronomy 31:8, Proverbs 3:5-6, Jeremiah 29:11, Psalms 40:1-2, Psalms 55:22, II Corinthians 12:9-10, Romans 8:28

Many people today are burdened with anxiety, worry, and depression. Of course, this affects every aspect of a person’s life as depression makes a person sad, irritable, experience a loss of energy, and become reckless in their behavior. Also, a person can experience a  loss of discipline in many areas of their life. Therefore, due to problems, difficult situations, loss, and physical challenges a person may take on many unplanned characteristics. These things cause trouble, anger, home and family difficulties, ministry hindrances and more. When a believer finds themselves in the above situations they should:

  • Be sure to have a daily Quiet time

  • Read the Bible often

  • Pray

  • Meditate in and on the promises, instructions, and warnings in the Bible

  • Invest in others in obedience to the leading of the Lord

  • Obey the Bible in all situations

  • Deal Biblically with sin in the life

  • Do right in all circumstances

Anxiety, problems, challenges, and troubles do not quickly vanish. However, our Lord has promised strength and victory to the obedient believer.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for lifting me up during the time of need and fear in my life. Thank You for the overcoming grace and power that You are in my life.

Project: List the areas that bring anxiety to your life, talk to God about each of the areas listed, and commit to obeying the Bible.
