Stop and Meditate
Psalms 1:1-3, 8:1-9, Joshua 1:8, Philippians 4:8
It is good for God’s children to stop and meditate on His power and goodness often. As one looks around today at the glory, power, creation, and sustaining presence of God the heart is made to rejoice and give thanks. Our God who created the universe and knows each part of it also is interested in every person. What a joy to know that God cares and knows about the needs, desires, and longings in our heart. Looking around at the beauty of God’s creation brings rejoicing to the obedient life, refreshing to the soul, and strength. When discouragement or trouble seeps into the life it is good to take time and reflect on the power and goodness of God. This directs one’s heart, mind and life to God and all He has and will do; rather than on the problems we’re faced with at the time. Take time now to meditate on God’s power in creation.
Prayer: Lord, fill my mind, heart and life with Your power, presence, and joy as I observe Your wonderful creation.
Project: Write down what you see now in God’s creation that brings rejoicing to your life and mind.
