Take Care of Your Heart

Proverbs 4:23, Psalms 51:10, Ezekiel 11:19, II Timothy 2:22, Matthew 12:33-37

So, how is your heart? O course, it is working or you wouldn’t be reading this devotional. But is your heart healthy? Many times when the Bible teaches about the heart it is referring to the “inner person”. Therefore, really how are you today? Interactions and encounters with people often create:

  • Anger

  • Bitterness

  • Resentment

  • Wrong words

  • Ungodly reactions and more that come from the heart.

The Apostle Paul teaches us in Ephesians 4:32 to, “let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking be put aware from you with all malice.” These are the feelings in the “inner person” which create situations that hurt the cause of Christ and one’s personal life. It is true that one cannot dictate what others say and do but they are responsible for what is in their heart. Checking and cleaning one’s heart is God’s way to bring freedom and blessings to the obedient believer.

Prayer: Lord, open my spiritual eyes to see all that is in my heart and guide me in all actions and words that I will honor You and my life will draw others to You.

Project: List all that God reminds is really in your heart and what He is directing you to do now.
