Finish Well
II Timothy 4:7, Ephesians 6:10, Philippians 3:14, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Hebrews 12:1, I Corinthians 9:24-27
The athlete is focused on finishing as a winner, so all the time of preparation they are focused on winning and staying in the race. The athlete pays a great price in preparing daily and keeps the end in mind. So is the Christian to do each day. For it is in the daily conducting of life that makes the difference in finishing strong. One must keep focused on their objective and what they do each day. However, it is in a few moments of foolishness or neglect that life is greatly impacted and that going on and finishing well becomes a great challenge. Praise God He forgives, cleanses, and works in one’s life. However, it is vitally important in running the race of life that self-control and diligence are applied to life… for a good start does not guarantee a good finish. A good finish is determined by what one says and does along with the choices and decisions they make that determine a good finish.
