Strength to the Weary

Isaiah 40:29, Psalms 28:7, 37:9, 23, 34, 55:22, Philippians 4:13

Many times we are bombarded with ways, pills, or a plan to increase strength and overcome weariness. Especially as one ages their strength is reduced and this often creates frustration, depression, worry, and more. Of course, it is possible that one could eat certain foods or get involved in certain activities that would affect their strength. But it is a weariness of the soul, in the inner person, that the above verses and many more are concerned about. Although the outer physical person is affected by what a person thinks, it is important that we realize the strength to guide, protect, and sustain a follower of Christ comes from His presence and power in life. As a follower of Christ relies and trust Him to do what only He can do they have the strength that overcomes the weariness of living. We must remember that the scriptures teach that a person in Christ is “more than a conqueror” ( Romans 8:37). As we trust and obey, He does what only He can do giving strength to the weary.

Prayer: thank You Lord for Your sustaining grace that gives me strength to go on.

Project: Give the List of things that you are weary about to the Lord, now.
