Be Glad

Psalms 16:11, 64:10, Philippians 4:4, Romans 15:13, Galatians 5:22-23, I Peter 1:18

One must be careful, selective, and obedient lest one look for joy and gladness in the things and people of this world only to discover that joy and gladness is not found in anyone but the Lord. It does not take long before one realizes that people let them down and reject them and even lie and gossip about them. It is only in the Lord that one can find relief, joy, peace, and refuge along with overcoming power and joy. It is in the joyful obedience and good words and deeds that one does that a person can have true joy and peace of heart. To expect or wait on others to do this is a futile exercise and leaves one often in anxiety and frustrated. So trust in the Lord, do good to others and your soul will be refreshed by God as only He can. Often mankind trusts in friends to bring joy only to find hurt, and trouble, and discover they are human also.

Prayer: God help me to see and know it is obedience to You and Your Word that I must focus on today.

Project: Write down the people and circumstances where you should show mercy.
