The Lord is Near
Psalms 145:18-19, 23:1-6, II Chronicles 15:2b, Philippians 4:5, Isaiah 55:6, II Corinthians 13:11
A great joy of the heart is in experiencing and knowing the Lord is near. Even when a person feels alone and becomes overcome with problems, the Lord is near. The Psalmist reminds us that, “the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy” (Psalm 147:11). So, whether in the dark of night or the shadow of problems, the Lord is near and cares for His own. The nearness and the fellowship of our Lord bring refreshment to the lonely soul and companionship that is more than humans can imagine. For the Lord gives joy and is a joy to the soul. One is reminded that the presence, power, mercy, and kindnesses of God are always with those who trust, love, obey and follow Him. No matter where you are today, the Lord is there to guide, comfort, and provide for you. Take a few moments now and review the words of the song, A Child of the King by Hattie E. Buell, and be refreshed.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for being near, and comforting my soul at all times.
