Hapiness

Proverbs 17:22, Nehemiah 8:10, Romans 15:13, Hebrews 12:1-2, James 1:2-3, II Corinthians 5:17

One can often tell if another person is happy or not by their facial expressions. A person can say they are “happy” but what is in the mind and on the heart shows up on the face. So, what do others see as they approach us?

  • A smile

  • A frown

  • A sour look

  • A questioning look

  • A look of anger

  • A discouraged look

  • A refreshing and inticing look

  • A joyful look

Yes, what a person sees first really affects their response. I heard someone say the other day, “A person should give others a smile and they would wonder what is next.” The follower of Christ is a “new person” in Christ and this should be demonstrated in many ways, and one of those ways is the face. Are we drawing others to the Lord? It is the look on one’s face that really makes the difference.

Prayer: Lord show me the areas of my heart that must be changed so my face will draw others to You.

Project: Keep a list of your facial expression today and evaluate them in light of the instructions to believers in the Bible.
