Defining Moments

Romans 8:28-39, Hebrews 4;12, I Peter 1:23, Matthew 4:4

On the journey of life, every person is exposed to various people, events, and situations.  Sometimes these situations bring defeat, hurt, strength, and much more.  Most of these events are unplanned and it is like one person said, “I did not see this coming.” However, God uses each action to do His work in and on our life. In the defining moments one is:

  • Made to stop and think

  • Made to stop what they are doing

  • Required to go in a new direction

  • Faced with new challenges

In the Bible, we read about many who had defining moments in their life. Moses as he received the Ten Commandments, David as he faced Goliath, Peter as he stepped out of the boat, and Daniel as he was thrown into the lion’s den.  It is vitally important that the followers of Christ seek the leading of the Holy Spirit at their defining moments and respond to what God is trying to teach at that moment.  It is good to check one’s life regularly for the defining moments, so stop now and check for the defining moment and what God is seeking to teach you.

Prayer: God, show me how I am to correctly respond and use the defining moments I am confronted with now.
