Discretion

Proverbs 2:10-11, 5:2, Joshua 1:8, Psalms 19:14, II Timothy 3:16, Isaiah 41:10

Occasionally a person is spoken of as “having bad judgment and discretion” in making decisions that impact the way they live. Life can be very difficult if a person does not have Biblical discretion and understanding. In the Bible, we are often reminded that what is planted in the mind affects how a person lives.  It is the truths of God that guide the making of the right decisions and choices that make up one’s life.  So, it is very critical to invest time daily in reading, meditation, and applying God’s Word to life in all areas. It is in reading the Word and obeying the Holy Spirit that a person has discretion and understanding in the events and encounters of daily living.  Multitudes of people wished they had never made the decisions they have made as the consequences of these decisions were realized.  So, if one is to have discretion and understanding, one must read, study, meditate and obey the Bible in each aspect of life.

Prayer. Lord, thank You for the Bible and for Your truth. Give me the discretion and understanding that I need today.
