The Great Key
Joshua 1:8, Psalms 1:1-3, Isaaiah 26:3, Philippians 4:8 Psalms 19:14, 119:165
We are offered many keys to life today, but the “real key” is to meditate in and on the Word of God. Spiritual meditation is the conscious discipline of the mind to think on the Bible. This is the key to faithfulness and walking in God’s ways. It is in and from mediating in and on the Bible that a believer seeks the Lord and is obedient. For it is as one reads, meditates, memories and applies the Bible to their life that the transformational power of Christ takes place in the life. It is in meditating in and on the Bible that sins are revealed in one’s life and the desires to obey the Lord enlarges in all areas. A.W. Tozer wrote many years ago that “one’s knowledge of the Holy was the great key to understanding Him and obeying the Word.” So, the great key to life for the believer is to invest time in the Bible. As they meditate and apply the Word to every area of life, spiritual growth takes place. We must not forget the “great key” to living the life of Christ is getting to know Him more intently and this comes from being in the Bible.
Prayer: God, work in my mind, life and time to guide me in keeping Your Word in my life.
Project: How I plan to put this great key to practice in my life today.
