Clothed in Humility

Luke 4:36-37, I Corinthians 3:6-7, I Peter 5:6-7, Colossians 3:12, Ephesians 4:2, James 4:10

Normally a person takes great thought into what they are wearing and how they will appear to others.  Yes, it is important how one dresses, but it is vitally important that a believer is “clothed in humility” as this opens or closes the door to service and communication that really make a difference.  Being clothed with humility is:

  • Not seeking the praise of others

  • Serving with the right motives

  • Listening and helping others quietly

  • Being faithful to the Lord at all times

  • Not boasting or seeking the attention of others

And, of course, there are many more examples of a humble person.  It is as someone has said, “there is plenty of work to do in the world if you don’t care who gets the credit.”  The sin of pride and a proud attitude must be carefully and obediently dealt with in one’s life lest they give way to seeking to please people rather than their Lord.

Prayer: Lord, reveal the efforts of pride in my life that I would be a clean instrument in Your hand today.
