It is Our Choice

Philippians 2:1-14

The Apostle Paul instructs in Philippians 2:14, “do all things without murmurings and disputings.” Scripture is clear, and we know it is true that our responses and attitudes have a great impact on the way we live, respond, behave, and talk.

One of the seemingly favorite pastimes of people is to complain. We complain about the weather, circumstances, people, and many other things. Some people seem to live in the world of complaining and grumbling. It is true that we are confronted daily with things and people that agitate, irritate, and confuse. However, the wise believer would be quick to say that “all things work together for good to them that love God” (Romans 8:28-29).

Yes, God is moving in our life in many ways. We must be careful and obedient not to become a grumbler and complainer in the things that happen. Rather we should look, wait, obey, and be thankful to the Lord in all events of life (I Thessalonians 5:18).

It is our choice whether to obey, learn, and grow in the Lord or to complain, grumble, and become a “sour” person in the events of life each day.
