Sing and Praise
Psalms 59:16, 61:8, 63:5, Acts 16:25, Isaiah 12:5
It is vitally important that a believer begins their day by praising and rejoicing. It is a great step in the right direction as one focuses on the blessings, provisions, wisdom, and power of God. As one reflects on God’s power, love, and mercy the cares of the day become smaller as God is the center of the heart and mind. It is in the light of God’s power, love, mercy, and forgiveness that the believer’s soul is encouraged, refreshed, and centered on obedience. This attitude and atmosphere of the heart is a blessing to the Lord and opens one’s life door for greater trust in the Lord. Rather than focusing on the problems of life, which may be great, one can focus on the Lord (Who is greater than any challenge that might be faced… Remember David and Goliath). David wrote of this great refreshment reminder in Psalm 23:1-6 where one might anchor their soul today. As the chorus of years ago rings in the mind, “My Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is follow”, one is encouraged and refreshed to continue on their life journey.
Prayer: I praise You Lord for the many blessings You have showered on my life and I now commit to follow and obey Your leading today in praise and singing.
