The Grand Sign
Micah 6;8, Ephesians 4:2, Philippians 2:3, Proverbs 11:2, James 4:10, Colossians 3:12
Andrew Murray, a great Bible teacher of the past said, “the grand sign of the believer is humility.” It is as one relies upon, and allows, the work of God in their life that humility is developed and displayed. Each person has the challenge of dealing with self-centeredness as a driving factor in all that is said and done. It is imperative that the obedient believer deals with the desire to be recognized, thought of as great, or to be number one… thus elevating self. It is critical that one humbles themselves in the sight of God as they respond obediently to His work in their life. Real humility of the heart shows up in actions and words. As the apostle Paul warned in Ephesians 6:11-12, the believer must be very careful of the great traps of the enemy, and one of those is pride. As it has been said, “it is very hard, unless we are really broken with Christ, to keep from making ourselves the center and measure of all the world.”
Prayer: Lord, I give myself to You. Do all that is needed so I walk and live in humility and show others Your love.
