Talking with God

Jeremiah 29:11, I John 5:14-15, I Chronicles 16:11, II Chronicles 7:14, Ephesians 1:18

The day is often given to talking and getting the opinions of others as we listen to what people think about things from cars to vitamins.  However, unfortunately, many believers spend little time listening and talking with the One who can do the miraculous and mysterious.  In this day one is so poised to work and do things, the presence, power, and ways of God are often left unconsidered.  Yes, believers have become greatly self-centered as they seek to change the world and do the unbelievable with their power.  It is true that believers are to be diligent and work. However, they are to wait and trust the Lord by praying earnestly. Asking and seeking divine power is imperative. As Dick Eastman writes in his book Talking with God, “Without prayer, every effort is wasted, for it leaves God out of the picture.” It is vitally important that the believer invests time to pray.  The question must be considered - is God a part of your life picture today?

Prayer: God, forgive me for trying to be my own person as I must have Your presence and power in my life for victory.
