God Knows

People often say or do things that are driven by a wrong motive. The motive is the reason or driving force for one’s actions or words. Words may be spoken or actions carried out to impress or embarrass others. However, God knows the real reason as He knows what is in the heart (inner person) for Jesus states in Matthew 12:34 that words are manufactured in the heart. It has been said that if you want people to know what is in your heart, start talking, for what is in the heart will come out in words and actions. One must be careful and obedient to deal with sins of the heart as the Bible teaches, for sin is not to remain in the believer’s life (Romans 6:12-13). Just as the primary physician checks the physical heart to determine if there is a health complication that should be addressed, the believer should check the heart and obey what God knows one is harboring in the heart.

Prayer: Lord, I need Your strength to know and face the real issues of my heart. Help guide and strengthen me to deal with the sins of my heart.
