The Rule
Colossians 3:10-15, Philippians 4:4-7, Isaiah 26:3, II Thessalonians 3:16, Galatians 5:22-23
In many instances, the current society has ignored or endeavored to discard basic rules of life. However, the wise person knows that rules are vital to correct performance and effectiveness. Just as the athlete understands the importance of rules, so does the productive and successful person today. One of the rules for the believer is that the peace of God is a guide for life. The opposite of this would be chaos and problems. The peace of God is cultivated and maintained in the believer’s life by:
Reading the Bible regularly
Praying to God, thus acknowledging the need for direction
Responding in obedience to the Holy Spirit
Speaking words of kindness, concern, and peace
The rule and sign of the peace of God is an excellent demonstration to others that a believer really trusts the Lord and is living in surrender to Him.
Prayer: Lord, show me how I should demonstrate Your peace today.
